Video conferencing with ZOOM
Registration
Since 15 April 2020, you can log in directly to ovgu.zoom.us with your personal OVGU account.
The "Sign in" button takes you to the "OVGU Central Login Service" (SSO - Single Sign-On).
Functional accounts may not be used.
It is still possible
Users with a basic account already created must join the University's account. A message to this effect will appear when you log in. After joining, your account will be activated within one day. Urgent cases please contact zoom-webconf@ovgu.de.
Notes
- No confidential content may be discussed in ZOOM meetings.
- No files may be exchanged via zoom. The usual OVGU channels should be used for this purpose.
- Use passwords for your meetings.
- After the start of the meeting, lock the meeting room. In this way, no unauthorised person can take part in the meeting or disturb the meeting.
- From a data protection point of view, we recommend that you refrain from using and logging in to the Zoom client. The OVGU recommends using the browser, even if this means that functions such as recordings, virtual backgrounds or surveys are no longer possible.
Participation in the meeting
If someone is invited to the zoom meeting, they do not need an OVGU account.
In principle, the host - i.e. the initiator of a video conference - must have a zoom account. A meeting can only be started via a zoom account.
Anyone who has started the zoom meeting can also invite participants who do not have a zoom account.
