Starting a web conference
- Call up the page meet.ovgu.de
- Enter a name for your web conference and click on 'Go' (Attention: Only use alphanumeric characters for the name.)
- the browser will now ask for sharing options for camera, microphone and screen
- if you are the organiser of the meeting, authenticate yourself (OVGU account), if not then you may be asked for a password for the meeting
- enter your name (display name at the conference)
- click on the 'i' in the display at the bottom right (the icons appear when the mouse moves over the image)
- the link to be distributed to the participants will appear
- by clicking on 'Add Password' a password can be set for this meeting
- Click on 'Copy' to copy the link and the password to the clipboard.
- Send the copied link and, if necessary, the password to the participants of your meeting.
Functions
- At the bottom left you will find the functions for chat, screen sharing or handshake
- In the middle area you will find the releases for microphone, camera and hang up.
- In the bottom right-hand corner you can change your display (e.g. show to all participants), the copy function for the invitation and other settings.
Keyboard shortcuts
M: Activate or deactivate muting
V: Stop or start camera
C: Open or close chat
R: raise hand
D: Switch between camera and screen sharing
