Starting a web conference

  •     Call up the page meet.ovgu.de
  •     Enter a name for your web conference and click on 'Go' (Attention: Only use alphanumeric characters for the name.)
  •     the browser will now ask for sharing options for camera, microphone and screen
  •     if you are the organiser of the meeting, authenticate yourself (OVGU account), if not then you may be asked for a password for the meeting
  •     enter your name (display name at the conference)
  •     click on the 'i' in the display at the bottom right (the icons appear when the mouse moves over the image)
  •     the link to be distributed to the participants will appear
  •     by clicking on 'Add Password' a password can be set for this meeting
  •     Click on 'Copy' to copy the link and the password to the clipboard.
  •     Send the copied link and, if necessary, the password to the participants of your meeting.

Functions

 

  •     At the bottom left you will find the functions for chat, screen sharing or handshake
  •     In the middle area you will find the releases for microphone, camera and hang up.
  •     In the bottom right-hand corner you can change your display (e.g. show to all participants), the copy function for the invitation and other settings.

Keyboard shortcuts


M: Activate or deactivate muting

V: Stop or start camera

C: Open or close chat

R: raise hand

D: Switch between camera and screen sharing
